The pursuit of...A Winter Wonderland

I finally made it to Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland after all these years!
Every year I have aimed to get down there, but never quite
made it before the run finished and it was just as I imagined...
Bright lights, loud festive music, yummy smells and lots and lots of sparkle!

First of all I was amazed by how vast it is.
Winter Wonderland is huge! I don't think I covered even half of it.
I must say I didn't choose the driest day to go (it was raining cats and dogs!) and if it hadn't of been so wet (and bitterly cold!) I would've explored for longer.
I started off by finding a stall in the Bavarian Village for some christmassy mulled wine and a juicy Bratwurst- just what I needed to warm me up!
(Not cheap though as you would imagine....£5.50 for the mulled wine and £10 for a Bratwurst with chips...but oh so worth it!!).

Next was time to try out the plethora of fun rides (Yes-maybe I should have done the rides before eating!).
I went for the surprisingly good fun house, which was longer than I expected (and probably made even more funnier by the fact everything was wet and more slippery!) and also the thrilling sky swing which gave amazing views over the venue and London's skyline.

After getting windswept and absolutely soaked whilst nearly 200ft in the air, it was time for me to find some yummy traditional Spanish Churros for the journey home and make my way to the tube.
I would definitely go back on a drier day and explore all the areas I missed, like the Magical Ice Kingdom.

London is such an incredible place to be at Christmas time and Winter Wonderland is a 'must-do' to get into the festive spirit!

* Winter Wonderland is open at London's Hyde Park until the 3rd Jan.
