The pursuit of...A Father's Day Weekend

This weekend was all about treating my dad.  As he is notoriously hard to buy anything for, I decided to host a Father's Day weekend for him instead!
It started off late on Saturday where we all got ready at my house to support England at the World Cup.
I'm not normally a football fan, but I love when the World Cup comes around.  Somehow it seems different and there is always an air of expectant excitement and buzz around it.
I made sure I had the snacks ready for dad and it was all eyes on the England v Italy match.
We were all very vocal about it (!), as were it seems, every other house on my road reminded me of the 2012 Olympics where everyone was rooting for England to do well. (Sadly, we lost 2-1!)
My version of Nacho's with Cheese, Guacamole, Sour Cream and Salsa- so yummy!
Bulmers Cider with Crushed Red Berries and Lime-so refreshing!
On the Sunday, we had a BBQ.  I tried to give dad a break from the barbeque duties but it is so hard to get it going!...I think I brought the wrong type of firelighters as all I was creating was smoke and lots of it.
Finally I cracked it and got all of the food cooked (with the oven on standby!).
Dad had a lovely day which was the main thing...It was much better than getting him another pair of socks!!
During my struggle with the BBQ....never again...leave it to the experts..i.e. dad!

Finally cooked food!!
My quick and easy salad..Mixed Lettuce, Baby Plum Tomatoes, Cucumber and Spring Onions

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, I'll be back tomorrow.
Love, Ivy George x
